The experience of the volunteer was alright. The job is not hard, so it's easy to learn and chill. You also will have many time for yourself. The hostel is really nice, with comfy common spaces and a lot of social vibe with other travelers. Thats the thing that I enjoyed the most! Also clean and beautiful, and unawatuna is a good place to stay with many things to do. I decide to leave before the date agreed, because some misunderstood with the host. He is really helpful and nice, but he can improve in his communication skills and leadership when he is struggling with emotions.

Thanks for everything. I start tourism 9 years ago so i know how to heddle things at my hostel. Maybe it's kind hard to understand who just looking fun more. I already have many people who volunteer in this and got good feedbacks but i can't satisfy everyone, if someone check hostelworld or booking.com you can see my name with most of guests reviews so i have more experience than you how to run a business. I don't really recommend who are people just looking fun and try teach and try get the control of the locals business. I was talking to everyone in my team not just for one person so you are one start every bad conversation so i don't want talk these things IN front of other guests. Also i never had any bad conversation with any of my guests so i can what kind mind you guys have.

My stay at this hostel was mixed. The hostel itself and the environment are really nice - a lot of beautiful beaches, easy work and good food - but i had some difficulties communicating with the host and it wasn't the best working atmosphere. The volunteers were truly wonderful and i had some memorable experiences with them but also alone. Sri Lanka is beautifully green and sunny and you can discover many hidden gems.

Thanks for helping out. The reason i don't want to give you feedback because i don't really recommend you any for other hosts. I help to you a lot as person as well not like a host. But your communicating is zero.In the begging it was teaching yoga (you don't have license but i host you) but at the end it's just money. We are charging some money to give some value for the hostel and also for the yoga teacher as well, otherwise it's not about money.

I really enjoyed my 3 weeks at the hostel as my first volunteering experience. The shifts still leave plenty of time to explore and relax, it was fun to hang out with guests and other volunteers. Pros are amount of working hours, facilities at the hostel and tasks, cons are that certain management rules are questionable (eg feedback from volunteers, despite being potentially very helpful, is not even taken into consideration). Overall I had a nice stay and I'd recommend the experience

Small thing volunteers have to understand local people are running business and they need volunteers help to grow up business. Also we have many volunteers who have grate idea about the hostels and with goods skills(not just having fun)

Such a great experience I had at the hostel backpackers! Nice people I met, and I felt really confortable working there in the reception and preparing the breakfast for the guest. Lucky (the manager of the hostel) is a nice person, easy going and flexible. Also I had the time to explore the area (that I really recommend it) and know more about the culture. Hope you enjoy the stay here and I hope to come back ✨

I had an amazing time at the hostel Backpackers Hostel. Lucky is an awesome host, he's a super friendly and very funny guy. The hostel is also very nice and clean. And the work isn't too much and it's easy to get a hang of it.

I really enjoyed my time as a Yoga teacher at the hostel! I just had to give one class in the morning from Monday to Friday and the rest I was free. I had complete freedom in designing my classes, which was really nice! Lucky is a warming host who cares a lot about the well-being of the guests, so he wants you to interact actively with them. The facilities in the hostel are alright but not the best for long term stay: not much space to put your personal things or to hang your wet clothes. But if you're not too picky with that your going to have a great time!
