From the very first moment, I felt at home. The place is breathtakingly beautiful, surronded by nature (Both Arvidsjaur & Moskosel). I had an amazing time hiking and enjoying the host's nature, whether on my own, since I often went solo because I loved it, or with great company when I wasn't :). I also had the chance to meet incredible people there, including Goncalo, John, other volunteers, locals, etc, and I am so grateful for that. We shared memorable experiences tighether. I would have loved to stay longer, but I'm leaving with unforgettable memories, and this is not a final goodbye ;)

I had an incredible stay in Arvidsjuar and Moskosel! The area is so calm and peaceful, surrounded by stunning nature. One of the most unforgettable experiences was watching the aurora dance vividly in the sky right from the lake behind the cabins—it was absolutely magical. John and Gonçalo were such wonderful hosts, incredibly hospitable and welcoming, making the stay even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a serene escape in nature, and I would love to visit again!

My experience in Moskosel was incredible, if you are planning to come it is really worth staying more than a month so you can enjoy and get to know the culture of the nearby places that are here. Jonh is an amazing cooking friend, he is a wonderful person, thank you so much for so many adventures and always looking out for us, they teach you things and you can make use of the kitchen and prepare whatever you like.

It’s a full 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ from us too! It was a real pleasure having you here in Moskosel — your kindness, energy, and curiosity brought so much life to our place. We’re so happy you enjoyed the adventures, the kitchen moments with Jonh, and discovering the local culture. You will always be part of our Moskosel family, and we hope to welcome you back again in the future. Thank you from all of us.

Volunteering at Moskosel the host Lab was a wonderful experience. I met amazing people who made my stay unforgettable. John, the coordinator always make sure we are comfortable and never miss the opportunity to make you laugh! He usually cook once a day and it's always a delicious and nutritous meal. I couldn't expect a better place for my first travel, I always felt safe. Also, it's a very good place to see northern lights and practice english! Thank you for your warm welcome. I hope to have the opportunity to come back here in the future. :)

This experience was my first time volunteering, and it couldn't have gone better! The nature is absolutely beautiful, and seeing auroras was incredible. The place is great, providing a comfortable living space. The work was quite fun and not hard, with plenty of free time to chill or explore. The food was amazing too - especially John's cooking ;) What really made our stay special though were the people. The manager, John, always looked out for us and immediately made us feel at home. Spending time with the other volunteers was so much fun, and I'm forever grateful to have met them on my trip!

Working at the host Lab was awesome! It was my very first volunteering experience and it exceeded all my expectations. Working with the team of volunteers was really great, they are all amazing and we got along so well :) John, the coordinator of the place, was always so nice and respectful and did his absolute best to make us feel welcomed and at home. There were never any problems about the working hours or other agreements as they were always respected. The nature was beautiful and I could fulfill my dream of seeing northern lights there:) I would definitely recommend staying here!

The host is truly beautiful! I loved the peaceful nature, outdoor activities, but also sauna and meditation in a beautiful yoga room. The northern lights were also stunning! However, the tasks didn't match the listing, the host and social media work was very limited (one day during my whole stay). While I didn't have a bad experience, some female volunteers felt uncomfortable. Four volunteers left early. There is a lot of potential, but I can't give 5 stars knowing the attitudes I observed (blaming girls who felt unsafe or speaking badly about volunteers behind their backs).

Thank you for your feedback. I’m glad you enjoyed the nature, sauna and yoga room. Regarding the situations you mentioned, we host many different people and sometimes misunderstandings happen — there is no “girls vs boys” dynamic, just different backgrounds and each person with their own perspective, and I’m sorry you ended up in the middle of that. As for the tasks, apologies: we have several roles and I assumed you were not in the social media group. I hope you still took good memories.

Our experience was unfortunately very different from what's described on the platform. The official host, Gonçalo, was never there , all coordination was handled by the manager, who often acted unprofessionally and created a tense environment. I'm not even sure if Gonçalo could review us, since he was never present. The work involved unsafe conditions, including working on unstable scaffolding without safety equipment. The accommodation was poorly maintained (broken locks, damaged washing devices),the food provided was very limited, even though the platform states that three meals are included.

Thank you for your feedback. I work several jobs to make sure the cultural space is open for you and others to come, which was explained to you.
You were given a full private house (kitchen, toilet, 3 rooms) so you could do your remote work without disturbance, and we adjusted working hours to your needs. We also arranged transport for you to explore the area, and never you indicated concerns about work or safety. We had a person cooking for everyone, but you were never there.

Your review is identical to your partner’s, which is worth noting, especially since you mentioned a lack of care on our side. Despite this, we truly wish you both all the best in your future travels.

The other volunteers were great people. I replied to a post that mentioned Content Writing & Social Media Management. The director said there was other work to be done too. Almost all tasks were landscaping. There was little opportunity to do what the original post mentioned. I discussed with the host, but didn't feel like the agreement was being respected. It seemed like false advertising. I felt like the site manager was a temperamental man who regularly insults and swears at volunteers. I found this unacceptable. I called him out on his behavior and he accused me of causing the issue.

Robert, we are sorry for your experience. While our projects combine hands-on help with content work, we did offer you the chance to focus on content by arranging an oral history interview with a man in his 90s, which was a unique and valuable opportunity. He generously shared his life stories, but you left the project the very next day it left him and us very sad and disappointed. From our perspective, the issue was you were not prepared or wanted to do any work at all.
