Program Details

In return, youโ€™ll enjoy delicious farm-fresh food, opportunities to swim in Lake Victoria, hike scenic hills, and connect deeply with local culture and community life.

This is a family farm located on Mfangano Island in Lake Victoria, Kenya. We (Lilian and Moses) run the farm with our four children and two full-time local workers.
We grow a variety of fruits (mangoes, pawpaws, oranges, avocados), vegetables (tomatoes, kale, onions), and root crops (cassava, sweet potatoes, cowpeas). We also raise chickens, goats, and cows.

Volunteers offer complementary support to our daily farm operations: planting, watering, composting, harvesting, and helping maintain cleanliness on the farm. Youโ€™ll help 4 hours a day, 6 days a week, and Saturdays are off to explore or relax. ๐Ÿƒ

In your free time, youโ€™ll enjoy:

-Eating fruits fresh from the trees ๐ŸŠ
-Swimming in the lake ๐Ÿ’ฆ
-Hiking Nyasimbi Hills for amazing sunrise/sunset views ๐ŸŒ„
-Birdwatching and relaxing in nature ๐Ÿฆ
-Optional boat rides or visiting Ruma National Park (at your own cost) ๐Ÿ›ถ๐Ÿฆ’

This is more than volunteering โ€” itโ€™s a cultural exchange and a peaceful island escape. Youโ€™ll leave with meaningful memories and real connections.
