The experience

Join us and help make a lasting impact on children’s lives. You'll help educate and support kids from marginalized families, providing them with care, knowledge, and new opportunities. In your free time, explore the local culture, visit nearby villages, or enjoy Uganda’s stunning landscapes. We offer a warm, welcoming environment and flexible hours. What you offer

4 hours of help per day

Teaching Sports: Teaching or assisting the host, guests, or local communities in practicing sports or physical activities.

Teaching Languages: Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Child Care: Caring for, playing with, and spending time with children.


What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Get free drinks or beverages.: Drink up! Get free and tasty drinks for yourself.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Fast Internet Access: High-speed internet for you to work remotely

Dedicated Workspace: Specific space for you to work remotely


Requirements

Intermediate English

Between 18 and 80 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers


What's not included

Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa

*Program Description:*

Join the Kalikwani Children's Foundation in our mission to provide quality education, care, and support to vulnerable children in Uganda. As a volunteer, you'll play a vital role in helping us achieve our goals.

*Objectives:*

- Support the education and personal development of children aged 3-18
- Assist in teaching, mentoring, and counseling children
- Help with daily chores, maintenance, and administrative tasks
- Participate in community outreach and fundraising initiatives
- Engage in cultural exchange and skills sharing with local staff and community members


Activities & Shift

*Morning Shift (8am-12pm)*

- Teach and assist in classes
- Lead extracurricular activities (sports, arts, music)
- Help with meal prep and serving

*Afternoon Shift (1pm-5pm)*

- Support children with homework and study skills
- Participate in community outreach and fundraising
- Engage in cultural exchange and skills sharing

*Flexible Scheduling*

- Choose your shifts and activities based on your interests and availability
- Minimum 4 hours/week, maximum 20 hours/week

*Weekends*

- Optional community events and outings
- Relaxation and self-care time

- No unauthorized photography or sharing of children's images

*Visitors*

- No unauthorized visitors or overnight guest
