I loved my experience at the eco village. Padma cooks amazing vegan food and Diego has a vast knowledge in permaculture and gardening. the eco village feels like home and it is also a perfect place to get in contact with nature. It is nice to practice Italian if you already know some. The work is not very hard and during my time there it was very diverse. The hosts took time to show me some of the surrounding interesting spots. It was very unique and spiritual experience.

I had an amazing experience at the eco village. This has been better than anything I could have ever imagined. Since the first day I have felt very connected with myself, nature, and the people around me. The work feels very fulfilling and meaningful, and the learnings and conversations I have had have helped me to improve as a person immensely. I feel like I have a new family here

I think this site is better suited for someone looking for a solo, spiritual experience as oppose to a group, volunteering, cultural experience. Ask lots of questions before visiting, there was a lot we were not made aware of.

This project is good to learn about being sustainable but it's very spiritual so not recommended if you have trauma. Also the laundry is solar and since we were there when it was raining/cloudy didn't get to clean our clothes. No soap either for washing dishes or hands after bathroom/ we had to ask for toilet paper so hygiene issues were constant. There was a bidet but the water pressure wasn't there so it was extremely hard to use. Food wise as said no meat but what was surprising was no dairy as well and no pasta. Also they picked the olives beforehand so we didn't get to do that.

Overall just not as advertised. Issues with hygiene, sleeping arrangements and overall structure made this experience tough to enjoy. Better suited for individuals who are already committed to this lifestyle.

Giordina the eco village Goia is a beautiful location, located within a gorgeous olive tree orchard. The location achieves sustainability to the maximum extent, but at the expense of certain necessities to comfortably live if you're not used to it. The lack of heating at night during November in Italy makes for a frigid and restless night of sleep. The lack of soap and water near the toilets leads to potential for sickness to spread and without soap for cleaning dishes allows for cross-contamination to take place for people with allergies. Overall a gorgeous location and the host was welcoming.

While I did not have a good experience, I believe that this experience is well suited for those who are willing to stay for 2+ weeks and seek intimate time with nature, in solitude, and are potentially looking for somewhat of a spiritual enlightenment. For consideration: If you have major food allergies (celiacs, etc) the hosts use natural soap (sparingly, at that) making cross contamination easy and travelers got sick. Yurts do not heat well so during winter, unless you have a sleeping bag, it will be very cold. Site is equipped for single travelers, not for 'Epic trips' in my opinion.

It was cool to see how everyone works together to provide a helping hand with the same goals in mind. It is very fulfilling to see how everything is cooked from the garden and how everyone is very connected and helpful. The life that is being lived here is one in touch with nature, free of judgement, and full of connectedness. I think this experience is for you if you want to live a nature life in a tent or bus, help out cooking and composting, and see a part of this other life that is being lived, in nature as part of an eco village. Everyone was so kind and had a great energy.
