The experience

With only 4 government schools here, so many children rely on private schooling, provided by the community and volunteer teachers. Materials and curriculum are in short supply and we’d love some volunteers to visit, help teach and engage with young students in the Kibera Slum, supporting through teaching

What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Teaching Sports: Teaching or assisting the host, guests, or local communities in practicing sports or physical activities.

Teaching Languages: Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.


What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Discounts on Accommodation: Get discounts for your stay in other hostels.

Free Tours: We’ll take you on tours and rides around town. For free!

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Dedicated Workspace: Specific space for you to work remotely

Beginner English or Fluent English

Between 18 and 75 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Activities & Shift

Tutoring and Mentoring: They provide personalized support to improve students' academic performance and confidence.

Organizing Extracurricular Activities: Volunteers lead sports and arts activities, enhancing students' social skills and overall educational experience.

Conducting Workshops: They offer workshops on life skills, health, and environmental awareness, empowering students with practical knowledge.

Supporting Feeding Programs: Volunteers assist in preparing and distributing nutritious meals, ensuring students have the energy for learning.

Community Outreach: Engaging with local families helps promote the importance of education and encourages school enrollment, fostering a supportive environment.


Rules

To ensure a comfortable and convenient experience for our volunteers, we offer a weekly laundry service for an additional fee of $3. This fee covers the cost of washing clothes once a week, providing a hassle-free way to keep your clothes clean during your stay.
