This was a dream first volunteer experience! The team are so wonderful, Grassi was such a wonderful person to work alongside, Francisco and Claudia are excellent hosts. The hostel is so beautiful and feels so cosy and homely. Chilling in the garden, cooking meals together and a lovely comfortable volunteer space were some of the highlights! Free surf lessons and yoga classes - plus boards to use anytime was amazing to have. I would 100% recommend this experience for a balance of socialising and chilling and getting to know the beautiful town of Ericeira. Can't wait to come back already!

I had such a great time at Olive3 :) I felt at home from the very first day — the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the whole team is super kind and helpful. I really enjoyed the variety in tasks and the rotating shifts – the working hours were always respected. One of my highlights was the beautiful garden and the opportunity to borrow surfboards. I'd love to come back. Muito obrigada! :)

I had the best two month ever in Ericeira in the beautiful Olive3! I always loved my shifts! They are different everyday, so this is diversified. :) The Guests are super chill and relaxed, it's rather a guesthouse than a hostel. The volunteers were amazing, I also loved the Vinyasa Yoga and the Surf of course. Surf is not easy to manage with the surfschool, that was frustrating sometimes, but it's not the fault of the Hostel. :) Breakfast was included and it was the best!! So thanks for everything, I learned a lot, and I'm looking forward to volunteer here again. :)

The Olive3 hostel has left a place in my heart, I met wonderful people who in short time have become friends! The owners Claudia and Francisco helped me every time that I needed. The four working hours are respected, sometimes there is more work but in general the tasks are simple and you can always call Claudia and Francisco if you needed. There Is a lot of free time to enjoy the beautiful blue and white Ericeira. I also had the opportunity to follow yoga and surf classes and it was amazing! I stayed for 6 weeks and if I could I would have stayed longer! I can't wait to come back!💙

I had an amazing time at olive3. The hostel it self is just stunningly beautiful and the owners Claudia and Francisco were really nice. The workload was absolutely manageable and if you let them know in advance it's definitely possible to switch some shifts around. All in all I had a wonderful experience, Ericeira is beautiful and I love the laidback vibe of this little surf town, plus I had so much fun at the free yoga and surf classes :)

I was in the hostel for two months and really enjoyed my time. Claudia and Francisco are really welcoming and I immediately felt at home. The work was assigned weekly. The 4 hours of work flew by. And you have enough time to explore Ericiera. I would definitely recommend the place and would love to come back. Best regards Uli 🦋

Olive3 was an amazing first volunteering experience! Ericeira is a beautiful town, and the beach is just a short walk away. Work hours were respected, and I really appreciated the flexibility to swap shifts with other volunteers—it made organizing personal time much easier. Joining the surf lessons was an incredible bonus! The hostel breakfast is super complete and the perfect way to start the day. Communication from permanent staff could sometimes be more constructive (especially in group chats). Despite this, I had a great time and would recommend Olive3 to anyone looking to volunteer in :)

I've seen a lot of hostels while traveling and this is definitely one of the most beautiful ones I've stayed in. The garden and the house itself is really cozy and nice. Besides that I could always join the surf lessons when a free spot was available what was really great! The bad thing is that the hostel is just run by us volunteers so the work is pretty hard. Also the owners treated us not very welcoming and expected us to work like educated workers.

Good afternoon, Iris,
I'm sorry you felt that way,
but I think you're a bit out of touch with reality, if you think that the hostel is only run by volunteers, that statement doesn't make any sense, if you knew all the work that goes into it beyond the little tasks you've done.
I honestly don't think you've ever been in the labour market to say that.
