The experience

We are looking for an helping hand with knowledge of horses. Your tasks will be general daily horse care (feeding, grooming, mucking out, etc.), stable maintenance (from sweeping stalls to building pastures) and help with our breeding and riding-school. We are based in a very rural area...which is great for hacking! Depending on your skills you'll be allowed to ride in your free time. The majority of meals are eaten in our family's restaurant.

What you offer

30 hours of help per week

Painting & Decorating: Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.

Animal Care: Help look after and take care of animals.

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

Farming: Plant crops, sow seeds and help in outside tasks.

What you get

1 day off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Bikes at your disposal: You can use our bikes any time you want.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Requirements

Intermediate English or Intermediate German

Between 18 and 30 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

What's not included

Program Details

Located in the beautiful rural countryside of Germany, our family run stables have been a cherised part of our lives for over 45 years. We are deeply passionate about horses and are looking for volunteers who share the same passion for horses and the outdoors. Volunteers will assist with daily stable/yard maintenance, feeding, grooming and general care of our horses. This is an opportunity to immerse yourself in rural life, be surrounded by our horses and ponies and be a part of our community. We do prefer if you have had previous experience with horses although if not, please just highlight this before applying. Accommodation and all meals are provided and we look forward to seeing what cultural traditions you can also share with us!

Activities & Shift

Your daily work will typically start @ 7/8am and will include:

- Cleaning the stables
- Feeding the horses
- Grooming the horses

Although shifts will depend on the day and time of year, you will be required to partake in additional tasks most days which can be anything from helping saddle up horses and sweep the stables to building pastures and general yard maintenance. Some days may be busier than others although we always make sure to have a laugh no matter what we do!

If you would also like to ride there will be opportunities to do so.

We also try to take our Worldpackers once a week to surrounding towns/attractions.
