Help us at our regenerative grazing farm in Alentejo

Being a volunteer at the farm was such an incredible experience. ☺️ I learned a lot about the environment there and substainability and was able to enjoy life on the beautiful countryside of the South of Portugal. Since the farm is far away from any bigger city I spend a lot of time out in the fields with the animals. My days were filled with fieldwork (in the morning and in the evening), relaxing, drinking coffee with my great coworkers, baking, chatting with the neighbours, taking the farm dog for a walk, cuddling with the goats (sheeps are not that fond of cuddling :D), ...

We loved our time on the farm! We learned so much and got to meet a lot of the locals! Cristiana is a total badass who will teach you everything you need to know! The whole team is super friendly and kind! I highly recommend this place if you like furry friends and don't mind getting dirty.

My friend McKell and I really enjoyed our stay. We were welcomed the second we arrived. Cristina was such a wonderful host and did a good job at including us and telling us all about the country life in Portugal. The work was simple and not too hard. The animals are very fun and we both loved getting to spend time with them. The farm is gorgeous and the community in the village is really generous. It was really neat being in such a close community where everyone was helping and supporting each other. Highly recommend if you want to have an authentic experience!

I had an amazing time at the farm! The animals are lovely and the surrounding nature is so peacefull. I learned a lot from Christiana about the animals and the work, she is a really good teacher (work smarter, not harder:)). The work was easy and fun for me. And I loved being surrounded by the sheep, goats and Moxy. I also felt like I became part of the small community in the farm romba. All the people are so nice there and everybody helps each other out, its lovely. I loved my time there and I definitely want to come back one day. Thank you so much for the warm welcome and stay!

I had a good time at the farm & felt like I could really reconnect with nature. The people in the village, Cristiana & the other volunteers I met during my stay were very welcoming & you felt like part of a small community. Accommodation & provided food were on point, I always felt comfortable. During my stay I noticed that there is too much responsibility on the volunteer since you mostly work with only the farm-manager (or another volunteer), which didn't meet my expectations of volunteering & could be improved. I learned a lot, had good chats & made valuable memories! Obrigada:)

All in all it was fine but I did not feel respected or valued as a volunteer. It was just me and the Farmmanager working most of the time and it was too much responsibility. It was more of a hard work experience not a learning volunteering experience. I was asked to work even when I was feeling ill, I even had more work that day…And the very last day I left at 10 a.m. for the bus. Then I was very harshly asked to start working at 8 a.m. like usual which would leave me no time to shower or get all the hay out of my clothes clean etc. There is simply too much work for one farm manager.

I stayed 12 days on the farm and I enjoyed my time there. The accommodation and the food they gave us was really good and Christiana was a really nice host who showed us a lot. I spend my time on the farm with another volunteer and I was really glad about that because I think otherwise it would have been a little bit lonely and boring because the farm is really isolated and there is not that much to do. Ofc the nature is beautiful and you can really calm yourself down while staying there. The working hours were everyday from 7-11am and from 3-4pm and the working hours were respected :)

I highly recommend Nele to volunteer with you, she is very responsibility and hardworking. It was a very good experience to have her around, helping us at the farm. She works well as a team and gets along very well with other members.

I learnt lots about how to help run the farm, lots of little tasks here and there. Quite isolated but in a really beautiful area and the animals were very cute. It was a pleasure getting to spend time with them.
