The experience

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Carpentry and Roofing Specialist to volunteer at our school. This role involves carrying out a range of carpentry tasks including building, repairs, and general maintenance, as well as overseeing roofing works to ensure the school’s facilities remain safe, functional, and well maintained.


What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Arts: Help with painting, graffiti, sculpting or drawing.

Painting & Decorating: Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

Additional fee required

Amount: € 10 Per day

Description: Volunteers are asked to contribute €10 to cover the costs of food and accommodation during their stay. This contribution helps ensure that all necessary amenities are provided while you are volunteering.

Activities & Shift

Activities:
•Carpentry Tasks
Volunteers will build and repair wooden structures across the school, including furniture, fixtures, and classroom elements. This may involve constructing shelves, doors, desks, and other essential wooden structures that support daily school activities.

•Roofing Work
Volunteers will assist with inspecting and repairing roofs, replacing damaged roofing materials, and ensuring all roofing structures are secure and weatherproof to prevent leaks and related damage.

•Maintenance
General maintenance work will be carried out to keep all carpentry and roofing components in good condition and ensure a safe, functional school environment.
Shifts and Schedule.

•Duration
Volunteers are typically scheduled for five hour shifts.
•Days
Volunteer activities are usually arranged for five days per week, depending on project needs and volunteer availability.
•Hours
Shifts generally include morning and afternoon sessions, aligned with the school’s operating hours to accommodate different schedules.

Volunteer Requirements
Volunteers should have prior experience in carpentry and roofing and be flexible and ready to adapt to different tasks as project needs change. A positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to work within a school environment are highly valued.

•Confidentiality
Volunteers must maintain strict confidentiality regarding any sensitive information encountered during their service. Any concerns or issues should be shared only with the Director.
•Appropriate Dress
Volunteers are expected to wear modest, practical clothing suitable for a school environment and hands on work. Revealing outfits should be avoided at all times.
•Security
Personal belongings should be kept secure in your room. For safety and privacy reasons, volunteers are not permitted to share personal contact details with anyone.
•Safety
Volunteers should not leave the project site without prior approval from the project coordinator. This is to ensure personal safety and proper accountability at all times.
•Gifts and Donations
All gifts and donations must be coordinated through the school administration and should not be given directly to individual recipients.
