The experience

Every June-July, we organise 4-days-long international scientific workshops in our village. We will have 2 in June 2025 and 2 in July 2025, with a week of rest between workshops. Worldpackers volunteers will help us host the workshop participants, i.e., serve refreshments and serve lunches at noon, plus cleaning afterwards. During the in-between weeks, volunteers will spend 3 hours/day on yard work, but otherwise will rest and visit the region.

Program Details

During the workshops (on environmental and agricultural issues), volunteers will help our 2-person staff host the participants, i.e., cater the meals and coffee breaks. Volunteers who would be interested in the topics being discussed could attend some of the lectures/discussions. During the off weeks, volunteers will help with tending to the Institute's property, including a permaculture-inspired vegetable garden.

Activities & Shift

During workshops, the volunteers will spend full days at the conference facility to provide assistance to the staff.
During off-weeks, the volunteers will stay in the property where they will be housed. In the morning, they will be expected to spend 3 hours doing light maintenance work in the garden and yard. In the afternoons, they will have free use of the swimming pool, and will be proposed activities, such as trips to historical sites and cities, to nearby beaches, and to amusement parks.

Rules

Our facilities are all non-smoking. During workshops, when they interact with participants, volunteers will be expected to wear suitable clothes (our staff wears white shirts and black trousers or skirts), but during the off-weeks, there will be no such restriction.
