Program Details

The programme on our 4-hectare farm involves a combination of building work, tree planting, and harvesting almonds and olives at specific times of the year.

We focus on promoting soil health by allowing grass and weeds to grow, then chopping and dropping them between the almond and olive trees. By enhancing soil life, we aim to reduce the need for artificial fertilisers and insecticides.

Activities & Shift

The activities would be varied, but most workdays would be from 8am to 13:00, Monday to Friday.

Rules

We are a fully off-grid farm's farm and we ask volunteers to be mindful of their electricity and water use.

We have a dry composting toilet system which is processed weekly. If you'd like more information on this interesting subject, search 'Humanure'! :-)

We conserve water and electricity, compost our kitchen and toilet waste and use our eco-filter for drinking water.

Overall we emphasise the importance of sustainability and minimising waste, while living comfortably.

The single bunk beds in the house are open-plan so if you prefer more privacy, the caravan is private and can sleep two people comfortably.
