The experience

Embark on a unique adventure by joining us in a charming boat moored in Moss, just a short train ride from Oslo. We are seeking a creative volunteer to help us boost our online presence by creating engaging content for our Instagram and Facebook pages, as well as setting up and managing our website.

Help is also needed for the Jeløy Kystlag (the marina) to make SoMe content of everything that is going on.

What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Content Writer: Write, edit and publish inspiring content.

Photography: Take, edit and provide amazing photos.

Video Making: Create, edit and publish digital videos.

Social Media: Maintain and update social media channels.

What you get

2 days off per week

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Program Details

Ahoi! I live onboard the fantastic vessel, a wooden trawler from 1953.
I currently live onboard, I have a full time job but all my spare time goes to keep this fine old lady in ship shape.

If you have a passion for social media, storytelling, and learning new skills, this is the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in Norwegian culture, live aboard a unique boat, and contribute to an exciting project. We look forward to welcoming you!!

You will also live onboard your own vessel. We have a Tugboat from 1957 that has a saloon and cabin with beds for three. This vessel also has a small kitchen and bathroom with shower, toilet and warm water.

Activities & Shift

We are located in Moss, just outside Oslo.
It is easy to visit Oslo with less than one hour on the local train.
Sølvskjær is moored together with several other vessels and we hare a lot of cultural activities going on. Activities can be everything from BBQ to sailing some of the common available smaller sailing vessels here.

Jeløy Kystlag (the local marina) is dedicated to historical vessels, and much of the work will be to document and post about the ongoing activities and our SoMe content.
There will be activities onboard several vessels and also on the Jeløy Kystlag Marina comunity.

Everyone connected to the marina has to join every Thursday for community work to make our common vessels and area better.

I am an Naval engineer and with 17 years of experience from the Navy I might have something to learn away also.
I also think of myself as a good cook.

I hope for learning exchange.
