Program Details
We would like you to help us clean the rooms, and public space and do the laundry. And sometimes we ask you for kitchen hand at dinner time. We have some staff working with you. You work 4 days (10am–4pm with a 1-hour lunch break), a week and 3 days off.
Please keep the hostel clean at all times.
You will be assigned a shared dormitory with other volunteers.
We want you to have fun communicating with guests, Japanese staff, and other volunteers.
Activities & Shift
We will finalize your work schedule together once you arrive. Please note that weekends are our busiest times. To ensure you have time to explore, we provide three consecutive days off each week. This gives you plenty of time to cycle the famous Shimanami Kaido or take a highway bus to Hiroshima, Osaka, Kobe, or Kyoto (all within a 2–3 hour ride).
Our hostel is conveniently located near the long-distance bus stop. We also host occasional dinner parties with guests and volunteers!
Perks include:
Free use of bicycles and laundry facilities.
Easy access to 3 nearby supermarkets and a 24-hour convenience store (1-minute walk).
Plenty of bars and Izakayas within walking distance.
Rules
If you want to use the kitchen, you need to avoid the time when the chef prepare meals for the guests. And also avoid the time when we are using the laundry from 10am to 4pm.
Always keep the hostel neat and tidy.
Please tell us when you want to extend or shorten your stay a week before or ahead.
We would appreciate it if you could stay quiet after 10pm.
