The experience

We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and motivated Waitress/Waiter Volunteer to join our brunch restaurant team. If you enjoy working with people, love good food, and thrive in a relaxed yet dynamic environment, this experience is for you.


What you offer

30 hours of help per week

Cooking: Choose the menu, pick ingredients and cook delicious dishes.

Bartending: Make and serve drinks and help maintain the beverages inventory.


What you get

2 days off per week

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Discounts on Restaurants: Get discounts at nearby restaurants.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Fast Internet Access: High-speed internet for you to work remotely


Requirements

Fluent English

Between 22 and 30 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Travel insurance

Take orders and serve food and drinks
Ensure tables and dining areas are clean and well-organized
Support the team during busy brunch hours
Help create a welcoming and enjoyable experience for every guest

Who we’re looking for

Friendly, proactive, and customer-focused
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Basic English communication skills (Portuguese is a plus)
Previous hospitality experience is a plus, but not required
Interest in food, brunch culture, and hospitality

Activities & Shift

6h/day, 2 days off in a row
In between 9am and 8pm


Rules

It is not allowed to bring outsiders into the Hostel, nor anyone into your room
* ⁠smoking is prohibited in the Hostel (you can smoke on the balcony) but always clean the ashtray afterwards
* ⁠Drugs are not allowed in the Hostel, nor in Portugal
* ⁠No noise allowed after 10pm
* ⁠Clean up everything you get dirty 🙃 - right now we don't have housekeeper, so cleaning is your responsability. Please be aware that this is something very important to us, if you need any help finding stuff to clean or so just let us know.
* ⁠you get 20€ per week to buy stuff for lunch/dinner, just bring me the repeipt anytime u go to the grocery and i refund you. Asking for tax id is mandatory
* Regarding breakfast, usually we provide eggs, bread, cow milk, cereals, coffee, tea, fruit - let us know if it's fine or if you don't eat this.
* Always turn off the lights when you are no longer using them and before going to sleep, check that all the lights are off ‼️
* Don't eat in the restaurant or at reception during your shift (always before or after the shift) ☺️
* For working, we ask to use something white on the upper part (shirt, hoodie, t-shirt) and something something black or denim on the lower part of the body.
* The volunteers room don't have much space, so bring a small suitcase ⚠️
* We just accept girls :))
