The experience

Green landscapes of Northern Portugal, nestled in the Vale do Bestanca, Douro Verde Region. I’m part of a small but passionate community working to turn an abandoned farm into a thriving food forest and a creative art haven.

Program Details

We’re all about permaculture principles, blending them with other land management techniques that suit our unique climate and geography.

We’ve already got some old vines, olive trees, and various fruits growing, but there’s plenty of space that needs your care and creativity.

When we’re not working, we enjoy making music, practicing yoga, or simply relaxing by the creek with a glass of homemade grape juice (or wine!).

It’s a place to learn, share stories, and create something beautiful together.

Activities & Shift

You’ll help with a variety of tasks, from organic gardening and improving soil quality to building infrastructure for our ambient art yard project.

Your day might include cutting wood for winter, preventing fires, or planting new fruit and nut trees.

We usually work in the mornings and late afternoons, leaving the hot midday for a well-deserved break by the creek.

Expect to help about 5 hours a day, 5 days a week, with plenty of time to explore, relax, and enjoy the natural beauty around you.
