Activities & Shift

During the night shift, you ensure that the premises are properly and neatly closed and that people follow the rules at night (keeping quiet when they return from the pub, haha). Your shift starts at 10 PM. You begin with a round through the hostel. Is there enough toilet paper? Are the showers and toilets clean? Is the kitchen spotless? Then you help out at the bar of our hostel. This includes restocking drinks, taking out the trash, collecting glass, and, if needed, making drinks and taking orders. Once the bar closes (before midnight on weekdays, around 1 AM on weekends), you help with cleaning and tidying up. After that, you close the bar, do another round through the hostel, and then go to sleep (or do whatever you like, as long as your somewhere in the hostel). You take the hostel phone with you, as well as a tablet with cameras monitoring the common areas. If someone locks themselves out, they can call the hostel phone, and you can let them in.

Rules

The house rules for the guests are the same for our colleagues. We treat each other with respect and have a zero tolerance policy. You’re not aloud to use drugs or drink alcohol during your shift.
