The experience

We are seeking volunteers who have a love caring for animals, construction, gardening and homesteading.

Often called health camp Mizque based on the food, exercise all in symbiosis with nature

We have a green house, garden, pond and trees that need attention. We also have small construction projects, stonework etc.

Work is mostly in the morning with some chores or shared cooking duties in the evening.

We enjoy playing games and working out.


What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Painting & Decorating: Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

Pet Sitting: Taking care of and looking after pets.

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 5 Per day

Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers and Materials for volunteer activities

Description: This fee allows us to maintain and share a high standard of nutrition with all guests. We also employ a nanny that cooks delicious lunches for all. It also helps cover incident things like wear and tear caused by volunteers.


What you get

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Discounts on Tours: Get discounts for tours and excursions around town.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Program Details

Volunteers take turns feeding the small animals including chickens, ducks, rabbits, 2 dogs and 2 cats. This happens twice per day. We like to start just after sunrise, work an hour, then enjoy a tasty farm breakfast.

Tasks will gardening, upgrading spaces and other permaculture type projects.

We share cooking duties and have a fully stocked kitchen with herbs and spices supporting many culinary styles.


Activities & Shift

5 hours per day 5 days per week. Shared breakfast, lunch and dinner on work days. Meals a little more independent on days off but some are still shared. Cheap restaurants are closeby and the shared kitchen, dry goods, fruit and veg from the garden are always available.


Rules

Be responsible for equipment loaned. Use items appropriately.
Proactively help with life activities like shopping, unloading shopping, menu planning for your turns, picking up trash and food preparation. Be attentive to the animals needs. One load of washing per week. Always ask before use.
Smokers to use designated spaces and be responsible for cigarette butts. Payment in full on or before arrival.
