Program Details

You will learn about The Sami culture and reindeer. The Sami are one of the world's indigenous people and have rights and the culture, traditions and languages are protected by law. The reindeer are gathered into corrals during autumn, where the new calves are marked by cutting a pattern into their ear with a knife. All the Sami reindeer herders have their own unique earmark for their reindeer. In the same period, we are also selecting out reindeer for slaughtering. If you come here volunteering in the period we are doing this, you will have the opportunity to get to experience this old tradition.
Here is also museums in the area you can visit.

Tasks and schedules will often change due to weather and animals, and we expect you to be 100% flexible with changing help schedules and days off. This is NOT a 9-5 job!
