Thank you for your feedback. We’d like to take the opportunity to clarify a few things.
First, we want to remind you that you were welcomed here as a volunteer because you specifically reached out after a difficult experience at your previous placement. We accepted you into our guesthouse because we believed it could be a good fit for you, and we made sure to offer a safe, supportive environment.
As stated from the beginning, our volunteer arrangement is only 5 hours of work per day, leaving ample time to explore the area, enjoy the beach, or engage in creative activities. While we understand that everyone has different expectations, we are located in Imessouane, one of the world’s top surfing destinations, with plenty of opportunities to meet people, relax, or enjoy nature. It’s not our responsibility to manage your free time—it’s up to each volunteer to take the initiative to enjoy what the location has to offer.
You mentioned having some difficulties getting along with guests, but this is a part of any hospitality role, and we did our best to ensure you had a comfortable and respectful environment. However, as we’ve said before, if you ever felt that this wasn’t the right fit, you were always free to leave. We even offered you the chance to cancel your trip on several occasions, but you chose to stay for a full month, which shows that despite your challenges, you saw value in staying with us.
We always aim to create a positive experience for our volunteers, and we’re sorry that this wasn’t fully what you were hoping for. However, we feel that part of volunteering is learning how to manage your time and expectations, and we believe Imessouane offers enough for anyone who is willing to seek it out.
We genuinely hope you’ve taken something positive away from your time here, and we wish you all the best in your future travels.
