Our experience volunteering at the inn has been amazing. Toris and his family are very welcoming and warm, it felt like home. We had to take two planes to get to Nias, but once there we didn't have much expenses. If you are looking for a place to rest whilst getting to know the local life, this is the perfect volunteer experience

I had suuuuch a good time there! I relaxed, chilled, had a lot of me time in a paradise beach, it was amazing! The hosting family and the people working there were so nice and kind and welcoming! I am really going to miss them! The work is really easy and short, just swiping the beach in the morning. I just want to mention that the room they give you is extremely hot, even with the fan so i switched to an ac room and paid 15$. Thank you for everything and hope to see you again!!

My time in Nias was super fun and relaxing. We picked up garbage along the beach for about an hour or so in the morning and the rest of the day was free time. The family was very nice and welcoming, they also told us about their plans to expand their project in the coming year. It was more difficult to get there than expected, so we ended up flying into Gunungsitoli - additionally, it was more significantly more expensive than we were expecting to get from the airport (or the port) to the inn. But once you are there, the experience is great and you get to enjoy the island life.

We had a fantastic time staying at the inn. The family was very accommodating and nice to talk with. The tasks were very easy, mainly cleaning up the beach and the areas around the inn. It took less time than anticipated. They are working on expanding their volunteering program for the future. The discounted surf board rentals make it a great place to learn to surf, we definitely improved! Beware that getting to Nias and then to Lagundri Beach is a long process and comes at a cost. Make sure to do lots of research beforehand as the costs can quickly add up.

We had the most amazing time with Toris and his family. They were all so welcoming and made us feel at home. Toris and his nephew Matin taught us to surf, which was great! The food was also amazing, especially the banana pancakes. The work consisted of 30 minutes of sweeping, so we had the rest of the day to relax. Overall the place is just so magical, and we would have liked to stay longer. Be aware that it can be a little complicated and expensive to get to Nias, but once you are there it is all worth it❤️🏝️

Toris and his family were so so lovely! We felt really welcomed and comfortable and it's such a great place to relax and unwind👍 Definitely recommend if you like to surf or want to learn, the beach and property are stunning! The small amount of house/ beach cleaning work was super manageable and went very quickly 100% recommend! Thank you for a wonderful time ✨

Toris and his family have been super welcoming and made me and my partner feel at home. Nothing has been a problem and we've had a really incredible experience- learning a bit of Indo language too! The work is super quick, easy and rewarding- plenty of time in the day to work - surf - and just enjoy the island with little tourists!

The perfect place for a reset. The family and local people are exceptionally kind, caring and willing to help you in any way. While showing you what it means to be a local in Nias. the inn is set on the beach. With many cosy places to sit, work and enjoy the views. The food is nourishing, educational and delicious. If you feel like it you are welcome to buy fish from the fisherman that arrive back home on your doorstep. The work is almost therapeutic Sweeping and cleaning the beach each morning and collecting plastic from the local area. I couldn't recommend it more! Terimakasih

Volunteering at the inn on Nias Island was both rejuvenating and exciting! Toris, Martin and the rest of the family here are incredibly kind and welcoming and I can't recommend this Worldpackers experience more. Amazing people, beautiful location, delicious food, and totally rad waves (what better place to start up surfing than the home of some of the world's best waves!). While beach conservation work ended up being seasonally/tide dependant I was able to help around the Inn instead which was nice.
