Vivek was a fantastic host, great knowledge of the local area and had some great connections! It was our first volunteering experience and we loved it. Can't wait to return when the hostel is finished.

Vivek is super chill and easy to work with. The workload isn't too heavy—just a few hours a day, and there's plenty of flexibility. Once you're done with the tasks, you're free to do your own thing. The hostel (including the newly opened one) is really nice. It's in a decent location—perfect if you want a street view of Mt. the hostel every day or need a quiet place to unwind after a busy trip around Japan. The best thing is that it's just a 1-minute walk to the metro, giving you easy access to all the major tourist spots in town. What more could you ask for?

I really liked my stay at the hostel. It was a nice experience and I loved being surrounded by nature. The host was really flexible with work hours, that was great.

My stay at the hostel was disappointing. The bedrooms had large spiders, and cockroaches were a nightly issue. Despite reporting this, the host did nothing. There was visible mold in the AC and bathrooms, and the bikes were old and unsafe. Some guests insulted volunteers, and the host dismissed it, extending their stay while we dealt with their mess. Overall, the host's lack of care made this a negative experience, and I wouldn't recommend volunteering here.
