I spent 1 week with Erna and her family and felt truly at home. The work was variable and flexible, both at the garden and the cooking classes. The accommodation was great, the location was beautiful and my time there was lovely! Looking back, I wish I had stayed longer. Erna wants to tell you all about the culture, the people and is always ready and happy to help! Plus the food was amazing, which is always a plus.

I had a wonderful time with the home family. I was able to meet new people, improve my English, and discover the home life and work. She welcomed me into her home with great kindness!

This was our first world packers adventure and we absolutely loved it. We stayed 2 weeks and would've happily stayed longer if we could have. We worked 4-5 hours a day taking regular breaks due to the heat. Erna tailored our time to teach us about permaculture as this is what we are passionate about learning. She was great. The work we did during our stay was: weeding, creating raised beds, planting veg, tending to fruit trees, cleaning out a well and planting rice woth the local women in the village. Erna and her family are so lovely and there home was a beautiful place to stay.

Erna is positive, welcoming, attentive, accommodating, knowledgeable and honestly made my first worldpackers experience a tough one to beat! I stayed in a comfortable room, ate delicious dinners with the family and got to know about village life, the projects and roles of other NGOs in the area and indonesian life more generally. The work was a mixture of permaculture practises and preparing a well/ planting beds/ compost and planting containers for planting. We also planted rice and received a lot of composting and cooking advice! I 100% recommend. Thank you Erna!

I had an authentic, lovely, and unforgettable experience at the home. I got the chance to get hands-on with the crops, learning about sustainable farming practices and the way of life in rural Sumatra. Working alongside locals, I became immersed into a vibrant, genuine way of life, and understood the hard work that goes into every aspect of cultivating the land. Miss Erna, along with the rest of the family, were among the kindest, most welcoming people I've ever met. By the time I left, I felt like a member of the family, and I left with memories I'll carry with me for a lifetime.
