The experience

Fulfilling our aim of being of service to others - through cherishing people by helping in the World Peace Cafe- barista work, helping in the kitchen preparing food and in our Air B and B. The Air B and B work is the main work helping clean the rooms, ironing and laundry.

Cooking for the community (8+)

Some experience of cooking for larger groups and barista work is helpful.

What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Painting & Decorating: Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.


What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Discounts on Drinks: Get discounts for drinks and beverages from our bar.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely


Requirements

Intermediate English

Over 18 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)


What's not included

Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa


Program Details

We offer a wonderful opportunity to be in a spiritual community.
All volunteers will have access to meditation classes and events where possible.
To help 5hrs a day helping with the daily activities in the centre.


Activities & Shift

Helping in the air b and b- cleaning the rooms, ironing and laundry wok.
helping in the kitchen cooking for the community and volunteers- cleaning the kitchen
general cleaning tasks in the building
Helping in the cafe when open for classes/events
gardening work
General DIY where appropriate
Everyone has monday off and another day. 5 hours per day(not including breaks and lunchtime) 9am-3pm or 11.30-5pm lunch is 30mins


Rules

Please adhere to the following rules during your stay:
INTOXICANTS: No tobacco, alcohol, or drugs to be used within the building or in the grounds of the building. Likewise, please do not return to the building intoxicated. NOISE: As a meditation centre, please be considerate of others using the building. Please refrain from playing music so others can hear (music through headphones is fine), generating excessive noise, or having parties in your living area. Please also be mindful of our neighbours when entering and leaving the premises. DO NOT BURN INCENSE
MEAT: Consuming or preparing meat is not permitted on the premises.
GENERAL RULES: As this is a Buddhist centre: No killing, stealing, lying, sexual misconduct or taking intoxicants is permitted.
We ask that you respect others whilst at the center.
