The experience

Description: Hi :) Our vision is to connect people while regenerating the land and offering a place for transformation. We're interested in wellbeing, art, and regenerative approach to earth care.

We are a family homestead with permaculture principles.

Our daily life is currently busy with developing the farm, taking care our animals and enjoying life to the fullest, and we're looking for experienced volunteers to help us with building tasks.


What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.


What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Tent: You will sleep in a tent at a camping site.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Bikes at your disposal: You can use our bikes any time you want.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Yoga classes: Take free yoga classes at our place.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Fast Internet Access: High-speed internet for you to work remotely

Dedicated Workspace: Specific space for you to work remotely


Requirements

Intermediate English or Intermediate Portuguese

Between 20 and 65 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers


What's not included

Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa


Program Details

We expect a minimum of two weeks stay with us. Volunteering over 8 weeks needs to be discussed. The accommodation is a caravan, a private room and glamping tents (summer). You will also have a shared kitchen and bathrooms.

Each day will start with a short brief of the daily tasks, same at the end of the day. The working hours are from 9-15/16 with the lunch break.

We will host a maximum of 4 volunteers at the time, but it is possible that you will also be the only one, depending on the week/month.


Activities & Shift

The tasks can vary depending on the priorities in your volunteering period. In general, we invite you to participate in different carpentry and general building/construction tasks. We expect previous experience and knowledge in this sector, as we want the volunteer(s) to be able to jump into the task and help us to build the required structures.


Rules

Quinta Shiva is a family homestead in a peri-urban area of Évora. We do not allow parties or excessive alcohol use. Drugs are strictly prohibited. Silence period is between 22-08 to respect the neighbors. We also host guests and events regularly at the farm.During the events the tasks might vary from the usual.
