Purex Fundacion was founded by local Ariel Garcia in 2018, and we focus on preserving the Galapagos islands through environmental conservation and social projects. We are based on the island of San Cristobal

Volunteers can come for between 1-4 weeks, working for 20 hours a week. We provide volunteers with a volunteer visa saving $100 park entrance fee ($200 from 1 August), as well as accommodation in our volunteer house, 3 meals a day on work days, and free snorkel equipment. Weekly rates start from $300 a week

Activities & Shift

We work Monday - Friday, between 8am and 12pm.

A typical week of a volunteer will look like this:
Basic: Monday - Beach clean up, Tuesday - painting/murals , Wednesday - Gardening, Thursday - helping in a kindergarten, Friday - helping in the community

We also have programmes for people that want to work more directly on conservation with animals

Outside of this, you can spend your free time exploring the many beaches and snorkelling spots on the islands, exploring the highlands or take a snorkelling or diving trip to the famous Kicker Rock. And, of course, spending your time seeing some of the best nature in the world up close and personal
