The experience

This organic farm measures 9 hectares. It is family-run and has been certified organic since 1998. The farm produces extra-virgin olive oil, kiwis, small quantities of wine, cherries, figs, vegetables, and wild asparagus. It is located in Sabina, an area famous for its production of excellent olive oil. Activities include harvesting and pruning.


What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Requirements

Beginner Italian or Intermediate English

Program Details

The owner, a high school teacher of agriculture, follows the volunteers. He requests help at different periods throughout the year, with a minimum stay of two weeks. Volunteers can help 5 hours a day and rest two full days a week, or else choose to help extra hours whenever theres need. Volunteers eat typical products from the area. They can host 2 people throughout the year and 4 in october/november, during the olive and kiwi harvests.


Activities & Shift

Two people can be hosted in a room with two single beds or in a double bed. The bathroom is private. Internet are available for volunteers to use. There is also the possibility of volunteers having access to an independent kitchen. The house is located in Fara in Sabina (Rieti), in the center of a small rural village called Corese Terra, between hills covered with olive trees.
