A Berber Dream in Progress

Welcome to Kasbah Bouchaara—where stone meets story, and every corner is being shaped by hand and heart.

We are still in the early stages of building this sacred space in Tagounite, a tribute to Berber heritage and desert simplicity. Today, only four room is ready—but what we lack in comfort, we offer in authenticity, purpose, and peace.

This project is more than construction—it’s a cultural revival, a dream slowly rising from the sands. If you’re someone who values raw beauty, deep connection, and helping something grow from its roots, we welcome you with open arms.

While we can’t host many at once, we’re always ready for those who arrive with intention, respect, and a spirit of contribution.

Activities & Shift

What I love most about hosting is the exchange of stories, cultures, and smiles. Here in the desert, time slows, and every day brings something meaningful—whether it’s building a wall, sharing a tea, or watching the sun rise over the dunes.

Volunteers may help with light construction, painting, cooking, organizing spaces, or planting around the kasbah. We also welcome artists, photographers, musicians, and storytellers—those who bring soul into space.

When I’m not working on the kasbah, I’m usually wandering the desert with my camera or playing the traditional rhythms of Berber music—melodies passed from father to son for generations.

Shifts are flexible: around 4 hours per day, with 2 days off per week to rest, explore, or just be.

This isn’t just a stay—it’s a moment in a living story. A chance to build something ancient and new, side by side.

Rules

We welcome everyone with an open heart, regardless of background, belief, or identity—this is an inclusive and LGBTQ+ friendly space. Respect is at the core of everything here: respect for the land, for each other, and for the traditions of the Berber way of life. We ask that you arrive with a flexible spirit, open to learning and adapting to the slower rhythm of the desert. Evenings are quiet and sacred, best spent resting, reflecting, or sharing stories beneath the stars. While we love celebration, we do not allow alcohol or loud parties, as we honor the calm and simplicity of our surroundings. Please walk gently here—take only memories, leave only footprints… and maybe help build something lasting along the way.
