Thomas is a very welcoming, flexible and respectful host. We had a great stay, we are very grateful for everything we learned from this experience. We met another traveller and that also went very well. We recommend this host to discover another way of life. Thank you very much Thomas.

I am very grateful for my stay at the farm. Thomas is a kind and thoughtful host, always open to sharing his knowledge and fostering a respectful atmosphere. Life here is simple yet meaningful, offering a unique chance to disconnect and reflect. The peaceful surroundings of the Italian Alps provide the perfect setting for personal growth and clarity. I recommend this experience to those seeking a break from modern life, embracing simplicity, and reconnecting with nature in a profound way. I highly value the knowledge Thomas shared about native species, woodwork and sustainable practices.

Hello Daniela
Before you go back from Europe to Costarica maybe you will visit some other place in Italy? You are welcome to Alpe Pianezzo too. For 1 or 2 person i will find always place to stay (if you travel with a friend)
Good luck for all what you do,
Thomas

The place is very beautiful. Thomas was very attentive and flexible with schedules and tasks. The house has basic amenities, nothing luxurious, and some challenges, perhaps due to it being winter. On the last day, there was a situation with Thomas's pet getting lost, and I didn't like how he handled it—I felt uncomfortable. That left me with a not-so-good impression, but the rest of the time, he was kind. I also liked that we shared some moments, but I still had plenty of time for myself. I would have liked to stay with more volunteers, as the area is very isolated.

I loved it at the farm. It was challenging for me in a variety of ways, but these challenges came because of me not because of anything that was wrong with the place. It's a 50 minute-1 hour hike, this is a bit challenging if you have big bags but Thomas is accomodating and brings it up for you. The work and environment is very quiet and you learn a lot about sustainability and how to cook well too! You learn that there are many alternatives to things functioning in a house than we think we need! I don't want to reveal too much, it's a 5 star for learning about yourself.

Hello! Definitely if you like nature and the mountains, this is the paradise. This place is in the middle of the Italian Alps and from the house you can see the wonderful views (there are tracks to follow for hiking). Thanks to the activities I did here, I learnt so many things about lumberjack tasks and plants (you will try different kinds of food with the aliments of the garden). It was a really good experience and with the advice of Thomas I feel completely ready to live in the mountain :) I hope you enjoy it!

Thomas is very wise and friendly. The experience was excellent, but the place is far from the village. Be prepared to have an immersive contact with nature.

Overall It was a beautiful experience and I'll always cherish the time I spent on Thoma's property. Thomas is a kind host with many fun stories and he does his best to make volunteers feel comfortable. Though I do think he can be quite biased and I wish he'd give more grace and make known his criticism in a more constructive and less berating way.

It feels strange writing a review about Thomas as he has sort of become a friend. I am grateful for my time with him. There are many blessings. Some things can be a bit of a culture shock for lack of better words but if you are adaptable then you'll be fine! It's a long hike to the house from the nearest towns so be aware of that. I hope to visit Thomas again one day!

Unfortunately this was not a good experience. The cleanliness was low and there was no refrigerator for the food. I think I had food poisoning from eating it. The tasks were very hard manual labor. The host is very knowledgeable and kind, however it seems he has a short fuse and is not very understanding and likes things done in a specific way. His friend Inga was also very rude and controlling, treating us , and sometimes the host , like children. Maybe it was a culture clash, but personally I don't recommend it. Feel free to message me if you have any more questions.

My experience with Thomas was not good. Though a good person, he's unprepared for volunteers. The house was dirty, with days-old food and no refrigerator—food was stored improperly in the heat. Meals were basic (beans, pasta, rice), and when we asked for vegetables, he brought ones with mold and felt offended when we didn't eat all of them. Tasks were exhausting in the heat, with no clear list, making it hard to be proactive. His German friend, Inga, treated us poorly, impacting everyone's mood. Despite his flexibility with schedules, these issues made the experience negative.
