Program Details

Our place is well known for its summer courses in traditional and various handcrafts. Participants are very dedicated to their hobbies and spend most of their days working. But at the end of the day, there is time to meet and exchange interests.

At the same time as the courses go on, we want to have a café at Telemarkstunet. Telemarkstunet is a site surrounded by traditional buildings. Many locals and tourists enjoy spending time here as there is an out sale of handcrafts, a perfect playground for children and a relaxing place for parents and grown-ups to relax. The kids have plenty of places to roam!

We would like to have outgoing social volunteers to help us in this mission! That's where you come in!

Activities & Shift

The volunteers are expected to
• make and sell waffels, “lapper”, ice cream, coffee and soft drinks to the visitors
• make arrangements for the kids: for example some outdoor games and competitions
• offer hikings to some of the beautiful outlooks in the surrounding mountain area
• explain visitors how to get to cultural sites ex Skinnarland samlinga – sculptural museum just close by Raulandsakademiet and other important historic places like Vemork and Eidsborg museum including Stavkirke
• arrange and offer trips to the beautiful sand beach Fagersand, a beach by one of the many mountain lakes in the area.
• Talk with guests and guide them on what to do and what to see.
• Mingle with guests and course participants as they have the afternoon coffee
• If weather allows spend time around a camp fire in the evening after dinner
