At the hostel I felt at home in paradise. There were frequent planned activities, very welcoming hosts who instilled this in the atmosphere, and a beautiful tucked away beach just down the road.

The hostel for me was more than just a work exchange. In the hostel I found my brasilian family. Mateus is a really nice person who has always been very kind and supportive to the people and the community. The fact that I was there was very helpful to learn Portuguese and to get in touch with the locals and the nature. If you are looking a place to enjoy yourself and enjoy grate moments with the people you surely have to go to the hostel!!!

It was low-season when I went in May/June but we still had a great time. I was able to practice my portuguese, and we had a lot of BBQ nights, which was great. The area is beautiful and I would totally go back to the hostel.

The hostel is a super nice place to stay few weeks and the vibe is super chill ☺️ Mateus and his family are really welcoming, i recommend !

I had a great time volunteering at the hostel! Mateo and Adri were very welcoming and helped us to make the most of our stay with insight into local hiking routes and yoga and surf lessons! The hostel had a very tranquil, local, family vibe so if that works for you this would be the perfect place :)

Matteo and Adrianna are really nice people and the location right at the beach is also really wonderful. But the volunteering is unfortunately not the best deal on the volunteers sides. When we arrived the place was generally not super clean, especially our matress/pillows. The volunteers are responsible for all of the cleaning of the place which is a lot of work as there are multiple guesthouses and common areas to clean in 5 hours. We didnt get an introduction on how to clean but got told we didnt do it correctly. Especially when I got sick one day, we hoped for more support from them.

Our stay in the hostel was simply indescribably beautiful. Mattheus and Adria are very friendly and warm people. We felt at home from the very first moment. We had 2 different areas of responsibility. Firstly, cleaning the grounds and the rooms and secondly, I was able to help with the renovation of a new room. We made many trips to the indescribable area and the surfing in the area is simply brilliant. We very much hope to volunteer there again one day and can highly recommend it.

Adri and Mateus welcomed me with open arms. Although I don't speak portugese, we managed to communicate well. This was my first worldpackers experience and I couldn't have wished for a better stay. I got included directly and got to try a lot of things. Not to mention but the nature here is amazing. After 3 weeks I heavy heatedly have to leave and hope that I will be welcomed back again in the future! I can highly recommend the hostel.

Este foi o meu primeiro voluntariado como Worldpacker, e eu simplesmente amei. O lugar me trouxe uma paz muito grande e me senti muito acolhida por todos. Eu amei minha temporada na Ferrugem. É um lugar de muita natureza, boas vibrações e um lifestyle único. As tarefas do voluntariado são super fáceis e também existe a possibilidade de você contribuir com qualquer talento que você tenha. O senso de comunidade e parceria que encontrei aqui tornaram a experiência mais especial. Deu para conhecer bem a região, fiz yoga, trilha, sandboard, andei de long, fui a festas e eventos, brinquei com os pets… Foi muito divertido! O Matheus e a Adri, os anfitriões, são pessoas incríveis, me senti muito acolhida por eles. Vou sentir muita saudade. Obrigada!
