The experience

We live in the south of Sweden on a small farm where we run a popular cafe/vintage shop in the summer months. We also rent out an old wagon on airbnb.
We also need help with an old former abandoned farm we recently bought 500m from us. At the moment we are focusing on the outside with the garden, clearing bushes, making firewood, cutting grass, some painting, installing water and more.
We only build with using reclaimed materials.

The ideal volounteer would be open-minded, self-motivated, tidy, mature, independent and at least 20 years or older.
-
We live in the countryside so... there are insects, if you don't like this, then maybe this is not the right place for you. It's a dirty job and there is no way you will stay clean.

Activities & Shift

Shift one start 9am and end 2pm
Shift two start 1am and end 6pm

Rules

Be prepared to cook for yourself By this we mean real cooking and not heating up prefab food. We will keep your pantry full with the basics and then what the garden gives and that is depending on the season we are in. You will never be hungry. There is also ingredients for baking and such. But you are the cook.

We don't provide meat for your own meals (sometimes yes) and we cannot provide a full vegan diet so that extra you have to provide yourself. That means that if you use non animal products in your coffee, butter and so on you will have to provide that yourself.

The accommodation is a simple setting in a renovated old stable with outdoor shower (hot).
It's a simple living for sure close to the field and when you step out you step on grass and in that grass there is life as insects, bugs, ticks and slugs. We live in the countryside so... . Just so you know what you get into.
