The experience

Here we live off our harvest and a small restaurant in our house. There are four of us in the house, three women and a 10-year-old boy (three dogs also accompany us). Life here is quiet, our house is in a small village in the Rías Baixas and has very good connections with other points of interest in Galicia.

Program Details

We are looking for a person to help us harvest the pepper that we plant in the summer months. It is a very simple task that we can explain to you once you are here with us. You will help us 5 days a week, from Monday to Friday, always in the mornings, so you will have free afternoons and the weekend to enjoy as you wish.
In your job you will have three days a week in which you will accompany us to our plantation to harvest the pepper, the other two days you will do work at home, helping us take care of the garden or cleaning.
We are also open to listening to interesting proposals or initiatives that can help us grow or jobs in which the person feels more comfortable.
Here in Galicia the summer is around 27-40 degrees, the weather is very changeable, so someday you may work in the heat.

Activities & Shift

This is our main idea:
Monday-Wednesday-Friday, work on pepper harvesting.
Tuesday and Thursday, work at home, general cleaning, help with the garden or new proposals for our home and our restaurant.
The hours will be from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm approximately.
We ask for 6 hours a day, eight to one is five, the remaining hour is in case there is a problem one day or we have to work half an hour more for anything specific that may arise. It may be that one day we finish at 2:00 p.m. but this will rarely happen.

Saturday-Sunday, free.

Rules

Volunteers will have their own room, it is a double room. Our idea is to always accommodate two people, so we are open to opening the doors to couples or friends traveling together, but if you travel alone it may be possible for you to share the room with another volunteer.
You can use the entire surroundings of the house, including the pool, in your free time.

The house rules are simple:
Keep your personal space clean.
Have good personal hygiene.
Respect the people who live with you.
If you use the common spaces, then leave them clean and tidy.
We need good communication with you. (If you are not going to return one day or you will arrive home very late, let us know).
Be polite to other people.
Respect our dogs.
And enjoy our home.
