The shelter became a home away from home. I had an incredible time looking after all the different animals. You got to know the animals and their own personalities. The other volunteers were a joy to be around and always communicated what needed to be done to ensure all animals and people were happy. Noel and Alice are truly inspirational and Chantal made me feel so loved. I would highly recommend staying here as you will learn so much about yourself and become at one with the animals ❤️

My time at the shelter was everything I had hoped for and more. The work that you do is extremely rewarding and seeing all the beautiful animals in such peace and tranquility is truly something else. Alice and Noel are super friendly and accommodating, creating a safe space for volunteers. I hope to comeback one day soon to continue contributing to this project as it will always leave a special place in my heart 🫶

The four weeks I spent at the shelter were truly unforgettable. I learned so much about animals, how to take care of them, and how to live with them as equals. Even though I thought I already knew a lot about speciesism, there was still so much new to discover. Here, animals always come first, and that's something you should be aware of before coming, because not everyone is used to this approach. But for me, it was a beautiful and transformative experience. I'll miss every soul I met here – whether they walk on two legs or four. I am looking forward to come back one day.

Our 3 week experience at the shelter was overall nice and connected with many ups and downs. Since there isn't much space for explaining we will just leave the most important things here: •no training for working with animals (awareness, how to handle sertain situations) • food wasn't really enough for a week of cooking, no fridge in volunteers area, food goes bad quickly • many many fleas!! •a lot of money spend on uber, groceries and laundry summing up, our experience was mediocre. there were a lot of positive sides like working with the animals and being around them🥰🌱

Sara came aware that we were an offgrid project, with no washing machine, living in the countryside where there’s insects, and she was aware of all the food we gave to volunteers. We trained her for weeks, but even after showing her many times the tasks, she would forget or do things wrong and always blame it on someone else.
Her review negatively affects a project that rescues hundreds of animals every year, lives 100% of donations and needs the help of volunteers to run every day.
Shamefull!

My time at the shelter was an exceptional experience. It really is off grid and don't expect luxury- however you have everything you need and I missed nothing. The animals will have my heart forever, same with the people and I would always return. I felt truly accepted and welcome This place gives everything to the animals and they can be themselves and are truly truly cared for and loved. This is an immersive experience (more work than travel) and you will feel tired but it is worth it!!! Uber is very cheap and cool places are nearby. I miss everything and cannot wait to be back one day!

I had an overall good experience at the shelter. Its a beautiful place and being around happy animals is heartwarming! The work hours can be long, some tasks are exhausting, and there are strict guidelines for tasks. The atmosphere with the owners felt tense at times, but the community of volunteers was wonderful. We all supported each other, and got really close. Overall, I would recommend volunteering here. the shelter relies on volunteers, and it's rewarding to know that the animals are getting the love and care they need. They truly benefit from all the help.

The stay at the sancturary was absolutely amazing, the animals are so kind and full of love. The one thing that could be better is the communication between the host and the volunteers, they were very strict. My stay was cut off unexpectedly so that was very unfortunate. I would really recommend!

Alice, Chantal, Noel and Sonia have a genuine love for animals like nothing I've ever seen. It's truly their life project to make animals the longest and happiest life possible and that's so inspiring to me. I went there being vegetarian and I left being the shelter. Also, I unexpectedly connected with all the other volunteers. They were all so genuine, loving, supporting and non- judjamental. However, if you're planning to volunteer here, bear in mind that it involves physical work, long hours and they have very specific guidelines that need to be followed strictly for the shelter safety.
