Experienced and confident horse rider needed!
The experience
We are a small family owned farm, breeding Serbian mountain horses, growing our own organic food and slowly working towards sustainability.
Help is needed in getting the horses fit and organizing rides/lessons. You should have a secure seat and be confident in all 3 gaits over variety of terrain. Occasionally, we might need help with other tasks: horse care, gardening, wood gathering, general maintenance etc.
We would greatly appreciate help!
What you offer

Animal Care:
Help look after and take care of animals.

Team Dorm:

Intermediate English or Intermediate Serbian
Between 20 and 55 years old

Program Details

Activities & Shift
We would normally expect you to work on average 5-6 hours per day, with one day of. However, some days might be longer if the horses training plan requires it.
We usually start around 8am and work till lunchtime, around 2pm. After lunch, you have your free time, during which you can do whatever you want.
The exception to this are hot summer days, where we might work shorter in the morning to avoid the heat and then resume in late afternoon.
While majority of work is horse related, there will be a non-horse part of work. Activities are various and depend on our current needs, your skills and interests as well as the weather!
Rules
-To apply for this position we need you to be an experienced, calm and confident rider, capable of riding out alone or in group on a variety of horses, including green horses, over all terrains, in all paces.
-You should be under 80 kg of weight, safe, sane and willing to adapt to the methods we use.
-You should also have good horse handling skills, as well as knowledge of techniques of lunging and ground work
-Ideally you would have had experience in starting young horses and have a riding ability that allows you to improve the technical level and way of going of the horses
-The horses are a priority and are to be treated with utmost care and respect. We use a specific mix of Natural and Classical horsemanship and would expect you to follow our methods.
-Taking care of the environment, of all living organisms, of our house and land are the important rules. The energy efficiency is a must, as well.
-Though it is not a rule, but a fact: we are very hard working and modestly living family and we would expect the same from anyone who comes to be with us.
