The experience

Looking for people to live at the lodge and help run the day-to-day operations. Accommodation, food, and use of our recreational equipment, (canoes, kayaks, stand-up paddle boards and fishing boats) is included. Swim, enjoy our lakefront hot tub. Hike in true wilderness. Explore hike in lakes. We work week is 25 hours a week.
Help us build docks, renovate log cabins, manage the forest, guide guests…
Learn how to use, and maintain tools.


What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Painting & Decorating: Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

Farming: Plant crops, sow seeds and help in outside tasks.


What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Free Tours: We’ll take you on tours and rides around town. For free!

Free Hiking Tours: We’ll take you on excursions and hikes around town. For free!

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Surfboards: You can use our surfboards as much as you want.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Fast Internet Access: High-speed internet for you to work remotely


Requirements

Beginner English or Beginner English

Between 19 and 55 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

Expect a positive, bright, energetic, punctual, staff who are keen to learn new skills, engaging with guests and do a wide range of tasks involved in off grid wilderness living.
Tasks include splitting fire wood, getting small fishing boats ready (bailed, fueled, whipped down), cleaning cabins, clearing forest fuels, operating chain saws lawn movers filling an heating the hot tub, operating and skid steer machine.


Activities & Shift

Daily activities
Cabin cleaning (about 1 day a week), filling the hot tub (2 days a week), fishing boat management (1 hours day, 5 days a week), forest management (2 hours a day) , grounds maintenance (4 hours a week) repair and maintenance (2 hours a day).



Rules

Rules for everybody at the lodge
The lodge and grounds must be spotless at all times. Wildlife is an abundant and precious resource. Wildlife must never be drawn to the lodge because of food scraps etc.
