I had a great experience working here! You only work three days a week, and the job isn't really demanding, but it does depend on whether you're doing bartending or kitchen work. The staff was very friendly and pleasant, and I got along really well with them. Personally, I really enjoyed it because it's a fantastic way to travel and meet new people.

We couldn't have asked for a better first worldpackers experience! Working hours and tasks are as agreed. Shifts feel LONG (bring comfortable shoes for standing) but the tasks are straightforward and manageable. Hostel is more hotel-ish so it makes it more comfortable to be working but not as social as other hostels. We made wonderful friends with the team and had plenty of free time to explore and immerse ourselves in the city!

Thank you, Michelle! We’re delighted to hear that your first Worldpackers experience with us was so positive. It’s great to know that the working hours and tasks were as expected and that you found the tasks manageable. We appreciate your tip about comfortable shoes!

We’re glad you enjoyed making new friends and had plenty of free time to explore the city. While our hostel has a more hotel-like feel, we’re happy you were still able to immerse yourself in the local culture and have a memorable experience.

Thanks for sharing your feedback, and we hope to see you again in the future!

Amazingly cool and modern hostel with good amenities and volunteer/ days off exploring balance. Staff was very nice and welcoming. A beautiful area location as well. Close travel using transit into Copenhagen. Over all experience was very good!

The hostel was such an incredible experience! First off, it's so nice having 4 days off being able to explore the city. The life work balance is extremely favorable at the hostel. But I think what made this hostel even more special was the amazing staff! Amalia was so kind, helpful, and supportive; however I had a chance to work closer with Julia, Merdreke, Karin, and Margarita during my time here and they all truly made the experience that much better for me! They all made me feel so comfortable, they were encouraging, extremely helpful, kind, and inclusive. Highly recommend!

I definitely recommend the experience, they have good facilities, a good atmosphere, you can share with several volunteers who are there at the same time and the best thing is to be able to enjoy a city with a lot to offer! Despite being new to receiving volunteers, the schedules were respected, the activities are not complicated, most of the staff were friendly and Amalia tries to support you with whatever you need! Thank you for the opportunity! ❤️

It was really nice but the room was dirty and the housekeeping didn't clean the room.

The hostel was great overall. Nice and welcoming people and pretty good rooms. For those who need to study or work, there are a lot of tables with outlets and really fast internet. Unfortunately there is no nice seating area with sofas and the vibe is definitely more like a hotel. The food was good, nice variety. The work was pretty exhausting but manageable since it was only required 3 times a week. It did involve a lot of standing and walking but if you don't mind that, that's fine :) The location is really good and there are a lot of nice things very close. Thank you!

I had an amazing time in Copenhagen: the volunteers and staff were kind. The hostel is modern and clean. I've done 5 hostel volunteer placements and loved them all, but the hostel felt more like a job than a volunteer experience. The work was tiring, and while we were allowed breaks, some managers seemed annoyed when we took them. The free breakfast and occasional dinner were great, but restrictions like not drinking water in front of guests were off-putting. One volunteer quit after 4 days because of the demands. I think having more working days with less hours each day would be a better experience.

The day before starting my job, I broke my ankle but i offered to work at the bar. I really enjoyed working and talking with the people, the hostel in incredible and so nice (obviously, when it was empty I looked to the phone). At the end, Amalia called me telling me to leave, claiming I was lazy and not doing anything, despite having worked all morning. She didn't even give me the chance to improve. I felt they expected me to know everything as a new hire. I was sad to leave, as I got along well with other volunteers and liked the job. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else again.

We are saddened by the review and would like to clarify the situation.

We always strive to provide a supportive and positive environment for all of our team members.
Regarding the claims made, we never insult or demean our staff or volunteers, and we aim to resolve any issues through open communication.

Unfortunately, Patri did not respect the guidelines or contribute effectively to the team despite being given multiple opportunities to do so.

Patri never informed us of any broken ankle and appeared fully capable of working, aside from mentioning a mild discomfort. Despite this, we encouraged her to rest, but she chose to ignore this advice saying she was fine to work for her second shift whilst not helping her colleague and spent considerable time on her phone during work hours

We understand that not every situation works out, but it is essential to work together respectfully in a team environment, which was not possible here.

We want to emphasize that we treat all our staff and volunteers with fairness and understanding. While we appreciate your feedback, it's important to remember there are always two sides to every story. We wish you the best moving forward and hope you find an experience that better suits your expectations.
