The experience

With this position, you'll be in charge of pruning, a critical process for maintaining healthy vines. Pruning is the art of selectively removing parts of a plant to improve its growth and fruit production. It's essential in the winter months, to prepare them for the next growth cycle and harvest. Your role will be key to shaping the vineyard’s future, ensuring that each vine has the best start for the coming season.


What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Farming: Plant crops, sow seeds and help in outside tasks.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

Program Details

In our Vineyard Care Volunteer Program at Finca Seguro, you'll immerse yourself in the essential practices of viticulture, focusing on vine pruning during the off-season. This hands-on role involves learning and applying pruning techniques to prepare our vines for the next growth cycle and harvest. The program is designed for those who want to gain practical experience in vineyard maintenance, offering a unique perspective on the winemaking process. While your primary task is vine care, we also value flexibility for other duties as needed. This opportunity is ideal for anyone passionate about sustainable agriculture and eager to contribute to the lifecycle of our vineyard.


Activities & Shift

The primary activity is vine pruning. Shifts can be somewhat flexible and will be scheduled around the most crucial phases of vine care. We'll work together to set a schedule that balances the vineyard's needs and your availability. This flexibility allows for a more personalized and enriching experience as you learn and contribute to the essential tasks in our vineyard.


Rules

We expect all Volunteers to respect the space given to them. A proactive approach to gardening and vineyard tasks, with an eye for detail as well as adaptability to varying tasks, is what we expect :)
