The experience

We care for 30 children in our orphanage—each with a unique and often heartbreaking story. Many have been rescued from the streets, while others are abandoned, neglected, or total orphans. Some are survivors of gender-based violence, rape, or other traumatic experiences.

Our mission is to restore hope, provide a loving home, and offer quality education, To them. Creating safe space for all children. Welcome.

What you offer

3 hours of help per day

Teaching Sports: Teaching or assisting the host, guests, or local communities in practicing sports or physical activities.

Teaching Languages: Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 9 Per day

What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Volunteer Program Description – Fountain of Grace Rescue Centre

About the Program
Our volunteer program at Fountain of Grace Rescue Centre is designed to provide a meaningful and life-changing experience for both the children we serve and the volunteers who join us. Located in Githurai, Nairobi, Kenya, we care for 30 vulnerable children in our orphanage and support 50 more through our community school.

These children come from diverse, often difficult backgrounds—rescued from the streets, abandoned, neglected, orphaned, and in some cases, survivors of gender-based violence. Our mission is to offer them love, safety, education, and a future full of hope.

Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities
As a volunteer, you will play a key role in supporting our daily operations and nurturing the children. Your responsibilities may include:

Teaching English, Kiswahili, and mathematics to those
who aren't going to school or homework .

Leading activities that build self-esteem, self-love, and personal hygiene (including menstrual health education)

Cooking and helping with mealtime routines

Offering mentorship and encouragement toward achieving educational and personal goals

Organizing games, arts, and creative workshops


Living Arrangements
Volunteers stay at the orphanage and become part of our extended family. This close connection allows for a deeper understanding of the children’s lives and a more impactful experience.
