The experience

My partner of 24 years died March 15th 2025. I am in need of someone who can help cook simple lunches , keep our rundown kitchen clean, walk 2 dogs & feed our stray cat population & help keep things clean & tidy on a disorganised Farm! We are a non profit project that cares for a rare breed of pony & 3 larger rescue ponies, 14 rescue cats & 3 rescue dogs. I am grieving but functioning & really need some support with volunteers & companionship.

What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.

Kitchen Hand: Help prepare, finish and serve meals.

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Reception: Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.

What you get

2 days off per week

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Tent: You will sleep in a tent at a camping site.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Bikes at your disposal: You can use our bikes any time you want.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Requirements

Intermediate English or Beginner Greek

Between 25 and 55 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Program Details

Keeping general farm spaces, clean, tidy and inviting. Ensuring volunteer spaces are kept clean. Prepare a simple lunch 5x times a week and ensuring washing up gets done and rather run down kitchen kept clean. Maintaining the general tidiness of the site and giving tasks to volunteers re: this . Taking 2 young dogs for a walk 2x a day. Feeding 14 cats 2x a day and ensuring there water sources are clean and full.

Activities & Shift

Morning shift afternoon free: 4 hours
8.30 am to 1.30pm with an hour off for breakfast, coffee etc, the rest of the day free.
In liaison with Amanda you will set up a programme that works well for you and the farm.

Rules

Our farm is old, basic and primitive. We cook good simple healthy meals but as someone who is not naturally a housekeeper and with grief I am becoming a bit overwhelmed and could do with some support in this area. Our farm is focused around all the animals that's 36 ponies, 4 dogs 14 cats and chickens and a goat !!! Animals are not clean or organised but chaotic, messy & unpredictable. If you are into cuteness please don't apply to us. If you are into being real and authentic and have an understanding of what animal care is then apply and would like to support us by offering some cooking, cleaning and dog walking then you are very welcome.
