The experience

We're a large hostel in the center of Shkoder - the capital of northern Albania!
We’re looking for a dependable and detail-oriented volunteer to help keep the hostel clean, comfortable, and welcoming for all guests. This role focuses on basic housekeeping tasks and working alongside our cleaning staff to maintain a consistently high standard of cleanliness throughout the hostel.

What you offer

32 hours of help per week

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.

What you get

1 day off per week

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Discounts on Restaurants: Get discounts at nearby restaurants.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Free Tours: We’ll take you on tours and rides around town. For free!

Free Hiking Tours: We’ll take you on excursions and hikes around town. For free!

Bikes at your disposal: You can use our bikes any time you want.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Fast Internet Access: High-speed internet for you to work remotely

Requirements

Fluent English

Between 19 and 35 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

What's not included

Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa

Program Details

What you’ll do:
- Change bed sheets and prepare dorms and private rooms after guest checkouts
- Assist with laundry (washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens)
- Clean and regularly check common areas, bathrooms, etc.
- Help maintain cleanliness throughout the day
- Occasionally move furniture to clean behind and underneath
- Work alongside and support our cleaning woman as part of a team

What we’re looking for:
- Reliable, hardworking, and attentive to detail
- Comfortable with physical tasks and staying active
- Willingness to follow cleaning standards and routines
- Team player with a respectful attitude toward guests and staff
- Positive mindset and appreciation for a clean, well-run hostel
