Come to our permaculture garden, at the foot of the Pyrénées, France! :)
The experience
We are restoring ecologically a earth house and looking after 2 hectares of land but we're not farmers. A vegetable garden and a tree-filled park, both organic and heavily inspired by permaculture. You will help create various types of mulch and see how effective it makes weeding when done properly. You’ll prune and maintain hedges and trees, reusing the cuttings, and assist in caring for a small forest.

Program Details
You will help create various types of mulch, and help weeding. You’ll prune and maintain hedges and trees, reusing the cuttings, and assist in caring for a small forest.
You will learn to distinguish edible wild plants from non-edible ones, taste these delicious wild greens, and discover simple ways to cook them. Mowing will be done according to the lunar calendar, and you’ll learn proper composting techniques (we have different composts since we use dry toilets).
But this is just a glimpse of our regular activities—seasonal tasks will teach you even more!
We can also show you how to bake bread (we make it every 2 to 3 days) and help you with your French if you're not a complete beginner.
Our property is old and entirely built with raw earth. Since we have rebuilt everything using clay from our garden, you’ll also have the opportunity to familiarize yourself with these building techniques.
