What an amazing adventure this was! From the moment I arrived at the hostelI knew I found the perfect place to connect with thethethethe hostel. Daan is a wise and respectful host, and he has an endless array of knowledge as well as a constant desire to learn. Rodolfo was the kindest Spanish teachers I've ever had, and one of my closest friends during my stay. The friendships I made, the meals we shared, and the scenery were all unforgettable. I learned about sustainable building, indigenous tribes, and most importantly, the joy of community in athe the hostelparadise.

The hostelwas overall a great experience, a wonderful place to disconnect but connect with fellow travelers/volunteers at the same time. It's a beautiful location, with a variety of things to do. There was always enough ingredients to create a good vegan meal for everyone. Daan did a wonderful job of making this the hostelenvironmentally friendly, and a great place to enjoy nature. For the three weeks I was there, one of the weeks, we didn't have internet. Although it's a great thing to disconnect, it became very inconvenient to study, contact family, etc.

Our experience, overall, was lovely, the river, nature and the hostelare amazing. Jair was very welcoming to us. The work is hard but rewarding. Would advice to take some extra snacks as the ingredients are very basic and sometimes there is not much to cook with. Also take clothes to cover yourself as theres many mosqitos/fleas/sandflies.

My stay atthe the hostelwas a great experience. The nature is stunning, with a river nearby and athe the hostelhike leading to beautiful waterfalls. It's perfect for reconnecting with nature. Be ready for animals and changing weather—sunny in the morning, rainy in the afternoon. The work is physical, great if you enjoy a good workout. The owner is very kind and welcoming. I felt comfortable but had to leave early due to personal reasons.

The place is in a very pretty nature spot. I am excited to see how Daan plans to build it up even more in a future. One of downsides of being that far remote is that you don't have many places to go unless you want to get a motorcycle taxi so w mostly end up just staying in a hostal. Tasks can be a bit different than position applied sometimes too if something else needs to be done

If you want peace and serenity, this is very isolated. Bring snacks and if you have luggage you pay double to get in and out. It's by motorbike. Daan is a good communicator but like pro active people.

This is a great place to come if you want to disconnect. The work is very reasonable and I had plenty of free time to do as I please. The location is very isolated so I didn't leave during my stay, but it offered me solitude that would be hard to find otherwise. The river surrounds the property and is very clean and a great place to relax. I would recommend this stay for someone who wants to fully immerse themself in thethethethe the hosteland learn about sustainable practices. Daan is a great host and has a lot of knowledge to share if that is something you're interested in. Thanks so much!

Stayed 3 weeks at thethethethe hostel. Tasks are adaptable to your skill, needs and joy. Host is pretty flexible with dates etc. Just keep in mind it's a rural place in thethethethe the hostelthat still needs a lot of love and development.

An incredible experience! Daan, Jair and Rodolfo were so welcoming and kind, they did everything to make sure the stay was perfect and it was like spending time with friends from day one. In the middle of thethethethe hostel, it's a great place to find some inner peace! The facilities are basic, but they have everything you need for a comfortable stay. We got healthy home cooked meals everyday, which added a nice homely touch. The work hours were fair - the physical work was manageable and felt good to contribute! Leaving was way harder than expected, can't recommended this experience enough!!

I really enjoyed volunteering at thethethethe hostel. Daan is very welcoming, respectful and ready to adapt. The dogs are the cutest and friendliest. The location is super peaceful. The river is splendid, especially for a jump after working. The hours are fair and honest and the job, tho most of the time physical, not difficult and I could always take a break or continue later when needed. As someone who studied construction and is interested is sustainable construction and living off the grid, I definitely learned a lot ! The project is super interesting and very well thought. Thank you 🙃🌴
