Overall my time at the the shelter was good and i got some extra experience with dogs. Alot of the dogs are very cute and they do brighten up your day! There are a few aspects that could be improved: -Clearer communication between paid staff and volunteers, clearer communication from people in charge -More respectful communication -Even though we are told about travel time etc beforehand, i simply think 12 hr working day is too long for a volunteer. (travel time+working day) I have a few other comments but this box is not big enough to leave a thorough review.

Yes, the commute can be long that is why
during the phone call I make sure I describe
every leg of the commute with the time it takes.
When no specific duties in the afternoon
- you could stay in the yards and cuddle some dogs.

I really enjoyed my stay with the shelter a lot! I got to meet a lot of super cute dogs, and make a positive impact on their lives in the shelter :) They take really good care of the dogs, each one is treated as an individual and any special needs are met carefully (including medications, special feeding or treatment). The shared flat is awesome (including Goshko), though the commute is not to be underestimated. Be prepared to get up at 6am, be on your feet all day, get your hands dirty, and get home in the evening with the great feeling of exhaustion after a full day of good work. 10/10

I had a fantastic time here! The days can be long and there is manual labour but nothing difficult- so it just adds up to be a great time! The people are lovely and so accommodating, and the work hours are really respected. I absolutely fell in love with the dogs and was very sad to say goodbye to the whole experience!
