About the experience in: GENT, Belgium
United Kingdom
It was a fun experience, we learnt a lot about the culture and the people that live it Ghent. The accommodation was really cozy, being located next to the river, as well as being warm. When we first arrived there wasn't a welcoming vibe and was quite awkward (nobody was smiling). Until a woman came over, who was really welcoming hee name was Min. We were on kitchen duties, and it wasn't organised. Also, the accompdation was located very far away from the place (30 min drive) and we weren't told that we didn't have transport on the last day, which we waited 2 hours before getting told this

Hi Ella,
Sad to hear that the vibe wasn't welcoming at first.
I'm not sure at what time you arrived, but our first buildup day was quite hectic indeed. Glad to hear our building coordinator Mien did give you that welcoming vibe once you met her :).
Next year we'll organise our volunteering experience for volunteers coming from abroad diferently, in 2025 everyone arrived at different times & we will welcome volunteers days in advance in 2026 so that we can give them a more proper welcome.
