The experience

Assist us in organizing and cleaning the first Aldeia Hostel located in the historic center of Manaus. It's in a house over 100 years old, built in the Portuguese style during the rubber boom in the early 1900s. Our activities primarily involve cleaning wooden floors, rooms, bathrooms, and common areas. Additionally, spending some hours at the reception. If you have skills in maintenance, repairs, and gardening, they would be highly welcomed.

What you offer

6 hours of help per day

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

What you get

2 days off per week

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Program Details

Our exchange is for the common good of all. We aim to provide a safe and welcoming environment for those entering and leaving our property. Aldeia Hostel I is an old house with many rooms and stories. The atmosphere is always calm and light, with visitors staying for one night or more. We avoid making too much noise as our acoustics are not great. Adapting requires being in tune with the environment, transmitting and receiving the necessary peace and security. Despite being relatively small, a significant number of people can be accommodated in this wooden portion of the house. We request special care for the shared room for volunteers, including keeping it clean, organizing personal belongings, and respecting the quiet hours.

Activities & Shift

The activities and shifts can be flexible. Bathroom maintenance and cleaning of the environment and rooms can be requested during morning, afternoon, or evening shifts. Similarly, a few hours of vigilance at the reception, handling checking and checkouts, and assisting guests with their inquiries are part of the responsibilities.
