The people there are warm and kind. Since it's a community, keep in mind that meals and sleep are shared, and things might not always be as organized as you're used to. I mainly worked on the farm/garden, which was tough but totally manageable and surprisingly enjoyable. The conversations with the person in charge of the garden were a highlight for me —it was a chance to see their passion for nature, their approach to food, and get a glimpse into their way of life. Stayed for a week, first volunteer experience and I loved it!

It's important to note that this retreat is not to do yoga and meditation, although those activities will be offered to you. This is mostly a retreat for you to learn about the practice of Bakhti Yoga and the Hare Krishnas. If you want to get out of your comfort zone and discover a new way of living, and perhaps change your spiritual beliefs, this would be for you. Unfortunately, I feel like I didn't learn much or wasn't taught much about it, but that could be due to my short stay. My experience was fun, but it took a bit of time before they could settle me in and felt a little disorganised.

It was wonderful. All of the people who lived there and the volunteers were extremely kind and open from the start. It was easy to get to know people and feel at home. The natural environment with not too many people around made it really easy to connect with the other travelers and residents. There were a wide variety of tasks to do including cooking, cleaning, and working in the large vegetable gardens. A lot of the work was in the hot sun, but I never felt overworked and there was always time for naps (-:. I would recommend the experience to anyone who likes being in nature (or might).

Ekachakra is a truly incredible place! I loved it so much that I extended my stay! Super friendly and welcoming people, everything is done as a family, they eat breakfast, lunch and dinner together as a family and most tasks are done as a team. Come with an open heart and open mind and you will immerse yourself into a completely different way of life. The work is very varied depending on what needs to be done each day. Wherever you will work it will be beautiful, the farm is very big with lots of opportunities to learn. I think everyone should experience this magical place 🙏🏼✨

I wish everybody could experience this once in their lives. The Finka the eco village is a peaceful, welcoming, spiritual, and loving place. There, I met real people that try their best to make everyone feel welcomed and loved. There, I learned to value the simplicity and humanity. The place is for sure special, but what makes it magical are the people that live and spend their days there. They were patient with my lack of Spanish, taught me in musical workshops, guided me through deep rituals such as Temazcal, and were open to let me choose the weekly tasks that I felt most confident in! Just go!

Hi! I would recommend the Finca if you want to improve your Spanish (I would advise that you already have some knowledge), enjoy being in a spiritual community, nature and if you are interested in gardening, cooking or farming. There are many animals, but you don't really have to take care of them. The dogs are super sweet, the duck Tito has to grow on you haha, the horse is not really used to working with people, and the people themselves are super kind. The food is really healthy and rich of flavour.

Thank you to the whole community at Ekra Shakra! Everyone was so welcoming and they have a beautiful community. We loved sharing time together in the farm and it was interesting to learn about how life in the community works. We were expecting more yoga practices and more organised work hours so if you are coming for yoga maybe communicate with the hosts first!
