Program Details
The project is active in the rural areas of Makawanpur, specifically in Bastipur and Basudev, with 25 children who are of age 6-12 yrs and one teacher allocated to each project area. The primary goal is to enhance the quality of education for children in these underserved rural areas, where limited facilities and opportunities are available.
As part of our education improvement program, as a volunteer, you'll work closely with children to help them learn and grow. Each year, we pick different themes for activities based on what the kids are learning in school. This means every month, we focus on a new theme, and every week, we all meet up to brainstorm fun activities that match the theme. Together with teachers and volunteers, we choose activities for the week. We like to mix things up and make learning enjoyable for the kids. That's why volunteers help teachers with activities.
Activities & Shift
Start your day with breakfast at 7:30 a.m., enjoying a typical Nepali meal with the rest of the volunteers
During the morning, you have free time to prepare activities for the "After School Project" or engage in other school-related tasks. We welcome your ideas and motivation!
Recharge at 1 p.m. with a delicious lunch prepared by our local staff.
In the afternoon, take a scenic walk through the rural area to Basudev, where the children from our After School Project are waiting your arrival with energy and enthusiasm. Another group of children is taking place at our school, where you can lead activities until 7 p.m.
After children go home, unwind in the tranquil setting of Bastipur and admire the beautiful sunset by the river. Your dinner of dhal bhat is already prepared in the kitchen.
Friday is a shorter day. After breakfast, we sit for a team meeting.
