What you offer

20 hours of help per week

Teaching Languages: Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.


What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Requirements

Fluent English or Fluent French

Between 23 and 30 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Program Details

This program is seeking individuals committed to sharing their native language, either French or English. Volunteers will be responsible for facilitating conversations, implementing games, and educational activities to foster an effective learning environment. In return, we offer an enriching environment and the opportunity to immerse oneself in Caribbean culture. We expect a dedicated and respectful collaboration, where both parties mutually benefit from cultural and linguistic exchange.


Activities & Shift

Guided Conversations: Facilitates structured talks in French or English to improve fluency.

Language Games: Organize games that encourage language learning in a playful and participatory way.

Educational Activities: Implement educational activities related to the native language, such as readings or grammar exercises.

Individual Support: Provides one-on-one support to residents who need language reinforcement.

Feedback and Evaluation: Provides constructive feedback on language progress and suggests areas for improvement.

Shifts:

Volunteers are expected to dedicate at least 4 hours per day to these activities, with flexibility to adapt to residents' needs and local circumstances. Shifts may vary depending on the dynamics of the program, but active and committed participation is expected to maximize the impact of the cultural and linguistic exchange.
