The time I had at the reserve was extraordinary. The beautiful place is very remote so it's best to buy a SIM card from Kolby beforehand. Also be sure to pack mosquito spray. As a vegan had many options to eat and I felt very welcomed by Patricia and the local community. So, if you want to reconnect with nature for a few weeks, enjoy working with animals and doing something for the environment, this is the place for you. Thanks Patri for the great time!

Either the place isn't for you at all or you love it. Unfortunately, the reserve didn't quite suit me and I left early. One thing to keep in mind is that there are only salt water showers, no fans or many activities. You can't really swim in the sea because the waves are very high and the current is very strong. You spend most of your time reading or playing cards. If you like to take a break from everything, this is the right place. There were also Worldpackers there who really enjoyed their time and stayed longer.

Mi experiencia en la reserva superó totalmente mis expectativas. Me quedé una semana y no imaginé que disfrutaría tanto del voluntariado como realmente lo hice. La carga horaria de las actividades es muy equilibrada, lo que permite aprender, colaborar y también tener tiempo para conocer la cultura local de Costa Rica. Estar en contacto constante con la naturaleza y los animales fue, sin duda, una de las mejores partes de toda la experiencia para mí. Fue una vivencia muy especial, enriquecedora y que recomiendo muchísimo.

Herman est très gentil, pédagogue et toujours de bonne humeur. C'était un plaisir de travailler ici. On part quelques heures chercher les singes, j'ai appris à cuisiner les recettes costaricaines, la plage est à 1 min de la maison, je recommande !

Todo fue maravilloso, Hernán y Patri son unos increíbles host, muy amables y siempre dispuestos a ayudar, Hernán da un tour muy lindo en canoa y te lleva a lugares muy padres, la observación de monos fue increíble y aprendí muchísimo, la comida es muy rica y hay gatitos y perritos muy lindos que siempre te cuidan

Hernán y Patricia me trataron súper bien , siempre estuvieron presentes , la comida de Hernán está buenisima, se valora el termo de café a toda hora . Recomiendo que hagan el tour en canoa con Hernán se ven muchos animales y se ven zonas virgenes de la reserva. Lamentablemente no pude ver tortugas por qué la temporada recién empezaba , así que voy a tener que volver a este la reserva. Pura Vida !

Es un lugar increíble, entre el mar y el río, es un lugar familiar donde fui acogido como parte de la familia, lo recomiendo a todos los voluntarios porque la van a pasar genial. Gracias Patri por darme la oportunidad.

Ich hatte eine tolle Zeit in the reserve bei Patricia und Hernan :)! Der Aufenthalt direkt am Meer, umgeben von Jungel, Kokospalmen und vielen Tieren, darunter süße Hunde, war sehr entspannt und spannend zugleich. Allein die Anreise mit dem Boot war ein Abenteuer. Ein ganz anderes Leben als meines in Deutschland. Ich konnte mein Spanisch verbessern und hatte viel Spaß dabei, Hernan in der Küche zu helfen. Das Essen war immer sehr lecker. Vielen Dank nochmal für diese Erfahrung!

Je suis restée 27 jours chez Patricia et Hernan. J'ai été très bien accueillie et la nourriture fournie était très bonne. Je suis venue pour la protection des tortues marines, nous aidons l'association LAST. C'est une super expérience et association. Cependant, le lieu de vie est plutôt sale à Pacuaré. Les toilettes et douches ont été nettoyés 2 semaines après ma venue et à certains moments des locaux viennent faire la fête et boire, ce qui engendre des bagarres et ne rend pas le lieu toujours sécurisé. Malgré tout, c'est un endroit calme, accueillant et très beau.
